Happy Birthday Elcie Jeanne

I can't believe I'm writing this already, it can't possibly already be your first birthday. Time has flown and I'm seeing how quickly it's going to continue to go.
Elcie Jeanne you made me a mother, and I don't just say that as a cliche. That is the best gift I could have ever been given.
I remember like it was yesterday holding you in my arms for the very first time. I didn't know or understand the love I was about to feel and continue to feel for you.
I remember during my pregnancy thinking I knew everything, that I didn't need advice because you would be my child. Oh baby girl was I so wrong. I remember the first night in the hospital constantly worrying if you were breathing, then scared when the nurses said we could go home. Could they really trust me to take care of you? I was scared and so nervous with your first bath (I have video to prove this). I was so worried the first time you got a cold. I was so anxious about you getting your first bruise. Baby girl I felt so many emotions that I've never felt in my life. We made it to a point that I felt confident as your parent and then you would throw me a curve ball. These truly are the moments that I look back at and laugh because you have taught me so much! Aren't I supposed to be the one teaching you? But because of you I love Jesus so much deeper. I see his grace in you. I see his forgiveness in you. I see his light in you. Babe when I look at you I am thankful God gave me you. I'm so blessed.
You are so strong, you are feisty, you are a little cuddle bug. You know what you want.

This verse perfectly depicts who I see you as : “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”
Proverbs 31:25

You light up a room with your love for others. Your laugh is contagious. You are fearless babe.
I am so excited to continue to watch you grow into the individual God has created you to be. Thank you love for making this year the best yet.

Love your momma.
