Less than $20 Moby wrap "how to" with a pocket

Let's just say that I have become a penny pincher since I started growing a baby. I hate knowing that I can make something rather than paying a fortune for it. So I have been taking on small projects here and there that I know I can save on! The moby wrap is a perfect example.... I would rather pay at most $20 for a wrap then $40-$50. So here is the "how to"

First you need 2 1/2 yards of stretchy material (needs to stretch in every direction). And 1/2 yard cotton fabric. I chose a grey color scheme since I don't know the sex of the baby, and I wanted it to work with my outfits. You will also need: Sewing machine, sewing shears, tape measure, thread, pins and patience ;)

Lay the fabric out hot dog style and cut in half so now that you will have two separate sheets of 2 1/2 yards of stretchy material. After this lay the ends together and sew... like the picture shows.
I then laid the ends together and folded the fabric in half so that I could pin it off, in a half oval shape. Then cut along the line. This creates an oval shape on the ends so its easier to tie.

After that I doubled my cotton fabric so that both sides show the "pretty fabric" This helps with thickness.... and also helps it look nice ;) Then I folded the edges and sewed.
After cotton is sewn I placed it in the center of the wrap, pinned it and sewed the side edges and bottom. Leave the top unsown as the opening to your pocket.
The end result of the pocket ----->
The sole purpose of this is to hold your phone or keys, or whatever your heart desires.
I went along the edge of the material to give it a nice clean look. This is not necessary if you don't want to.

The finished product! Note my husband modeled it as I have a large 9 month belly. ;)
