I Fall Short

You know those days or weeks where marriage just feels rough? When you feel like you're the good guy and your spouse is wrong... Then God gives you a BIG reality check and reminds you oh how wrong you are. I have had that week, but I am thankful for those reminders. I am reminded that my husband and I will always fall short of the glory of God but I am so thankful that he is faithful and just to forgive me and pick me back up. It has been so heavy on my heart to sit down and find verses that I can pray over for Tayler and I want to share and encourage you to do the same for your husband.

LOVE HIM:
"Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children" Titus 2:4

RESPECT HIM:
"However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband." Ephesians 5:33

BE HIS LOVER:
"But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband.  The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife.  Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control." 1 Corinthians 7:2-5

BE A WIFE THAT HE CAN TRUST:
"Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. Proverbs 31:11

BUILD HIM UP:

"The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down." Proverbs 14:1

BE HIS FRIEND:
"As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17

FIGHT THE BATTLES OF LIFE WITH HIM, RATHER THAN AGAINST HIM:
"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." Ecclesiastes 4:12

BEAR HIS BURDENS:
"Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." Galations 6:2

FORGIVE HIM:
Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times." Matthew 18:22

BE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR SIN AND NOT HIS:
"You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye." Matthew 7:5

BE A CONTENT WIFE RATHER THAN A COMPLAINING WIFE:
"Do everything without grumbling or arguing" Philippians 2:14

BE A DISCREET WIFE:
"to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God." Titus 2:5
